Hemicrania Continua

Diagnosis:

Clinical:

  • Unilateral headache,
  • +Unremitting (no pain free periods) daily for >3months, but with exacerbations
  • +1 autonomic feature:
    • Conjunctival injection or lacrimation
    • Nasal congestion or rhinorrhea
    • Ptosis or miosis
    • +response to indomethacin

Treatment:

Indomethacin 25 mg TID up to 200 mg/day (strong evidence base)
